The 10 Best Book Boyfriends

As we gear up for Valentine’s Day, the term “Book Boyfriend” has been popular over on social media.

The more romance or fantasy novels released, the more boyfriends to choose from.

Female authors know how to write love stories and know how to write a swoon-worthy leading man. Sometimes, especially in Romantasy novels, the villain is a better book boyfriend for readers than the hero. Shoutout to Rhysand and Xaden!

It can be traced back to Jane Austen who wrote the perfect romantic lead with Mr. Darcy and romance novels haven’t been the same since. Many authors try to emulate the very essence of Mr. Darcy and you can see pieces of him in many leading men in romance novels. Whether you’re a fan of tropes or not, characters like Edward Cullen stemmed from somewhere.

It’s interesting to see the “Book Boyfriends” that have come up over the years and are all quite similar. Readers want a good listener who wants to know everything about them and communicates well. It’s funny because those things shouldn’t be such a hard ask, yet it’s tough to find that in anyone.

So if you’re a yearner, if you’re a lover, and you have your “Book Boyfriends,” hold onto them tight because it’s a beautiful thing to feel those emotions through the power of writing.
