Book of the Month Preview: ‘One Last Stop’ by Casey McQuiston
In one week, Maude Garret and our wonderful book club members will begin covering One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston. Since it is Pride Month, we wanted to cover authors who have had such a prominent voice through their queer characters in their novels. McQuiston has created wonderful relationships in Red, White & Royal Blue, and I Kissed Shara Wheeler.
Casey McQuiston is a New York Times bestselling author of romantic comedies and a pie enthusiast. She writes stories about smart people with bad manners falling in love. She claims to live at the intersection of fun, escapist romantic adventure and smart-mouthed characters. She now lives in New York City with her dog, Pepper.
Cynical twenty-three-year old August doesn’t believe in much. She doesn’t believe in psychics, or easily forged friendships, or finding the kind of love they make movies about.
But then, there’s Jane. Beautiful, impossible Jane. All hard edges with a soft smile and swoopy hair. Jane saves August’s day when she needed it most. The person August looks forward to seeing her on the train every day.
