The Goodreads Choice Awards 2024 Nominations
It’s almost the end of the year, and it has been a wonderful year because it has been filled with books. The Goodreads Choice Awards have begun, and their opening round is officially open for voting. They cover each genre, but here at MBC, our focus is fantasy and science fiction. Fortunately, those genres flourished this year because of some incredible new releases.
If you haven’t read the books listed below, then it’s time to add them to your TBR for next year! All the books nominated below have impacted this year; we can’t wait to read some of them as a community.
BEST ROMANTASY OF 2024
If you are a ROMANTASY truther, the books on this list are already on your TBR, or you’ve already read them. The new novel that has had hype since last year is A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen. It is currently on our list for our monthly book picks. If you know Maude Garrett, Sarah J. Maas’ Crescent City series is one of her favourites and she couldn’t wait to read House of Flame and Shadow.

Best Fantasy of 2024
Maude’s Book Club has always looked for comfort fantasy reads for the community and TJ Klune’s Somewhere Beyond the Sea is one of them. Garrett has been a huge fan of Klune and couldn’t wait to read the next book in the Cerulean Series. We chose it for our BONUS BOOK for November.

Best Young Adult Fantasy 2024
Young Adult Fantasy has been a formative genre for many of us. The books on this list can introduce teens to a wonderful fantasy world. In February of 2024, MBC chose Divine Rivals as the BOOK OF THE MONTH and shortly after in May, we followed up with Ruthless Vows for our BONUS BOOK.
