Add These 10 Feminist Novels To Your TBR
Happy International Women’s Day!
Here at MBC we value women’s voices and want to amplify them as much as possible. We have highlighted female authors year-round on our site and with novels we choose for our book club. Women offer a different perspective in many genres and also put fearless heroines at the forefront.
The 10 Best-Selling Women Authors of All-Time
For Women’s History Month, we wanted to highlight the best-selling women authors of all time. It’s hard not to constantly reference their work or talk about their incredible achievements because they have cemented themselves in the pop culture zeitgeist.
The women listed below have broken Romance, Supernatural and Mystery Thriller’s genre barriers. They have all created incredible worlds for readers to get lost in and have become popular over time. Whether they have one trilogy under their belt or more, their writing has introduced readers to new perspectives and brilliant female characters.

Let the spice flow!
Frank Herbert’s Dune has been a series loved by many. The universe is extensive and has plenty of lore to make fans happy. The film adaptations have been received extremely well by general audiences and they have even picked up the book after watching.
Check out the five books we recommend after reading ‘Dune.’
If You Like ‘Network Effect’ Add These To Your TBR
The MBC community enjoyed reading the next instalment in the Murderbot Series and will continue with the series as bonus books in the future. We love having discussions in our discord, and we have multiple channels for authors and books.
If You Like ‘Divine Rivals’ Add These To Your TBR
February is dedicated to all lovers out there, and we have chosen Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross for our book of the month! After the buzz of Fourth Wing, Rebecca Ross was next in line with her young adult romance that had #BookTok all over it. Whether you read Fourth Wing or Divine Rivals first, they are great follow-ups.
The difference with Divine Rivals is that it has a more sentimental story and it is rich in magic. Some creatures and gods live in this world with Iris Winnow, but the human story of grief and perseverance connects readers to this character. If you’re a yearner and a fan of secret letters, this book will be for you.
If you’re not a fan of historical fiction, Divine Rivals will pave the way for a fusion of fantasy and mythological history.
The 10 Best Romance Novels by Black Authors
The books listed below are all highly rated on Goodreads and have been recommended by many. There are queer stories represented, and the focus is on Black love. These authors have written beautiful stories that will pull on your heartstrings and bring you onto another plain of love.
If You Like ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ Add These To Your TBR
The MBC community enjoyed reading another Romantasy novel and kicking off a brand-new series. What we plan on doing at MBC is to start a new series and hopefully continue to read them all together. We love having discussions in our discord and we have multiple channels for a variety of authors and books.

The 10 Books Trending On #Booktok To Add To Your TBR
#BookTok has become the new Tumblr for the book community. The good thing is that more people are reading, making everyone else interested.
Some of the books on #BookTok are hits like Fourth Wing and the resurgence of A Court of Thorns and Roses. However, the platform allows new authors to become popular and have word of mouth spread for their incredible books.
There are plenty of new books to check out from the #BookTok tag, and that’s why we’re going to curate some good ones for you!
Check out the books currently trending on the platform so you can add them to your TBR!

If You Like ‘Mean Girls’ Add These To Your TBR
Tina Fey adapted Queen Bees and Wannabees by Rosalind Wiseman for the original script. The parenting and adolescent self-help book breaks down the cliques in high school and how damaging the notion of popularity can be. Girls go through so much in “Girl World,” and Fey was able to highlight all of that in Mean Girls. Everyone feels seen in that film, and that’s why it will always have a place in the zeitgeist.
The 10 Books To Kick-Off Your Year
At MBC, we have created a strong community for everyone to feel comfortable seeking support. We want everyone to feel safe enough to share what’s on their mind, even if it’s not about books. Maude has read some of the self-help books on this list and will recommend them to anyone.
