Hot Off The Shelf: November 7th New Releases
As the year comes to an end, November is the month to get in all those final reads to round out the year. There are still new releases that 2023 has in store for many. This month focuses on mysteries, thrillers and some romance. Luckily for avid readers like us, plenty of books are being released in the next four months to keep us invested. Whether they are debut novels or long-awaited sequels, there is something for everyone.

In six more days, Iron Flame will be in bookstores or, if you pre-ordered, delivered straight to you! After the cliffhanger ending of Fourth Wing, there have been many fan theories about what could happen in Iron Flame.
In September, Maude’s Book Club covered Fourth Wing and could not stop discussing the endless possibilities of where this five-book series could end up. We have chosen Iron Flame as our bonus book this month too!

10 Feel-Good Books To Add To Your Winter TBR
The season of autumn does come with its perks. The leaves are changing colour, there’s a cozy wardrobe, and possibly the best warm drinks. However, it also comes with a change in mental health with seasonal depression hitting people when they least expect it. We wake up and come home in pure darkness and that can take a toll on everyone.
At MBC we want to create a safe space and support everyone through whatever they may be going through. We do have a #support channel in the discord where everyone can express themselves freely.
The books listed below are all feel-good novels that are considered cozy reads for the month of November and December. Some have the stamp of approval from the MBC community as well.

‘Fourth Wing’ TV Show in the Works on Amazon Prime
Ahead of the November 7th release of Iron Flame, Variety has announced that there will be a TV show based on Rebecca Yarros’ best-selling fantasy book series in the works at Amazon MGM Studios.

Book Review: ‘Fairy Tale’ by Stephen King
Regardless of how you know Stephen King, whether it’s from his novels or the film adaptations, he will always suck you into the world that he creates. Fairy Tale by Stephen King had been nominated for the best Fantasy novel in 2022 by Goodreads. That was a major factor as to why we wanted to read this one for Maude’s Book Club in October!
Convincing You to Read Books by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
If you have Goodreads and follow Maude Garrett, Amanda Tass, or Amanda Guarragi (me), you know Maude chose Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia for Book Chat last year!
This year, I decided to dive into Mexican Gothic, which blew me away and is one of the best books I’ve read this year. And next on the list is Silver Nitrate, which people have been raving about. Silvia Moreno-Garcia crosses genres and gives such depth to her female characters, which is one of the main reasons I enjoyed her writing.

MBC chose Fourth Wing for the pick of the month in September and now as our BONUS BOOK for November, we will be reading Iron Flame. Rebecca Yarros is kicking it old school with an old-fashioned midnight book release party and she has even added a tour! Not only will you be able to celebrate with fellow dragon riders at midnight, but you can also buy tickets to meet Yarros.
