It is the best month for those who enjoy thrillers, horror, and some dark sci-fi/fantasy novels. The month of October feels like a clean slate and a chance to try something new. Luckily for avid readers like us, plenty of books are being released in the next four months to keep us invested. Maude’s Book Club wrapped up Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, and the entire community LOVED reading it together. Yes, it’s a bit spicy, but it is a Romantasy novel that everyone can enjoy. Who doesn’t love dragons, special powers, and enemies-to-lovers?

Book Review: ‘Fourth Wing’ by Rebecca Yarros
‘Fourth Wing’ by Rebecca Yarros was released on May 2nd, 2023 and has become the Fantasy phenomenon of the year. Thanks to #booktok, new releases have gotten way more recognition than usual. Everyone on social media raved about this novel for months, and the fanbase grew.
Yarros has said that she’s happy romance and fantasy readers can come together and enjoy this series. This is the perfect start for anyone who has had trouble dipping their toe into the fantasy genre.

‘Fourth Wing’ Character Break Down
The MBC community has been having such a great time reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros for book club this month. Yarros has said that this first instalment to her Empyrean series is a starter book for those who want to dive into Romantasy. That being said, the characters are very likable, and all have great dynamics with one another.
Why You Need To Read More Stephen King Novels
Stephen King has been dubbed the “Master of Horror” because of the way he pulls readers into the horrifying world he creates. King slowly brings you into the atmosphere in his novels and has you sit with each moment he describes. You can feel everything around you while you’re lost in the pages. No matter the location, King can craft a chilling atmosphere to have readers engrossed in the journey.

In 2021 Amazon Prime released the first season of The Wheel of Time. The series is set in a high fantasy world where magic exists, but only some can access it. The series is adapted from the novels written by Robert Jordan. And after his passing, Brandon Sanderson continued the series. There are roughly 14 books in the series with other spin-offs and reference books to dive into.
Here at MBC, we have been obsessed with fantasy novels for years and The Wheel of Time is one of Maude Garrett’s favourite series on Amazon Prime!

We know that the internet can be a tough space to navigate and that’s why we want to create a safe space for everyone in the reading community to be able to discuss their favourite books with other bookworms.
Not only do community members interact with other book lovers and creator Maude Garrett, but Maude connects with the authors of the books directly so the community can also discuss the book with their favoruite authors.
